Tom Middleton is a Senior Managing Director (partner) at The Blackstone Group based in New York City. He has specialized in mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory to the communications sector since 1985. His clients and transactions have included a wide range of telecommunications, technology and media businesses in the US and abroad. He has also led public and private equity and debt financings for new, growing and mature businesses. After working in the Mergers and Acquisitions department of Kidder, Peabody he became co-head of the Telecom Group at Salomon Brothers in 1990 and then the head of the Communications Group at Merrill Lynch in 1996. He joined Blackstone in 2003 and engaged in both merger advisory and private equity projects.
Mr. Middleton is a member of the Board of Directors of the Nature Conservancy, the Advisory Board of the Northwestern University School of Communications, and the Annenberg Innovation Lab at the University of Southern California, as well as several of charity boards. He graduated in 1980 from Ithaca College and in 1985 from the Columbia University School of Business.
